Connect SAP Concur to Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot

SAP Concur is a travel and expense suite. Employees book trips in Concur Travel, card charges and receipts flow into Concur Expense, reports route through approval workflows and audit rules, and Concur Request handles pre-trip and spend approvals.

Nexatron's hosted MCP server is listed in Claude's connector directory. ChatGPT and Microsoft 365 Copilot add the same server as a custom MCP connector. Connect SAP Concur to your Nexatron workspace once, then ask from whichever assistant you use.

What you can ask

  • What is the average time from expense report submission to final approval by department?
  • Which expense types carry the most out-of-policy exceptions this quarter?
  • How many corporate card charges older than 45 days are still not on an expense report?
  • How much did we spend on air travel booked fewer than seven days before departure?
  • What were hotel costs per night by city for the sales team last year?
  • Which approvers have reports sitting in their queue for more than five days?
  • How much of last month's travel spend had no matching approved travel request?

Questions read expense reports and entries, company card transactions, travel requests, itineraries and bookings, and users.

Prerequisites

  • A Nexatron workspace admin.
  • An SAP Concur company, and a Concur administrator who can create an App Center service account.
  • A Concur user for each person who asks questions.

Admin setup

Nexatron reads SAP Concur Platform APIs such as Expense Reports v4, Expense v3 entries, Travel Request v4, Itinerary and Identity v4, secured with SAP Concur OAuth 2.0, and follows Concur's data centre geolocation.

  1. In Concur, create an App Center service account, and note its client ID and secret and the service username and password.
  2. In Nexatron, go to Knowledge ▸ Sources ▸ New connection and choose SAP Concur. Enter your company's geolocation host (your data centre's API host, for example https://us2.api.concursolutions.com), the client ID and secret, and the service username and password, and save.
  3. Select Connect on the connection's page to obtain the read-only company token.
  4. Choose who can use the connection.

How each person signs in

SAP Concur issues user-level tokens, so each person signs in as themselves under Knowledge ▸ Sources ▸ Your sign-ins.

Company-wide questions answered with the company token are a governed exception: an administrator opts in with a stated reason, Nexatron's access rules narrow what each person may ask, and those answers are labelled as coming from a shared Concur application.

First question to try

After you add Nexatron in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot, ask:

Which approvers have reports sitting in their queue for more than five days?

The answer shows the definition it used and the source behind it.

Permissions and masking

A person's Concur roles, such as expense approver, processor or auditor, and the employee groups and hierarchies those roles cover, decide which reports, entries and requests they can see.

Nexatron's own rules under Settings ▸ Workspace ▸ Access (Access) apply on top and never widen what Concur allows.
