Connect Nexatron to Microsoft 365 Copilot

Microsoft 365 Copilot reaches Nexatron through the same hosted MCP server that other assistants use:

https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp

There are two ways to set it up. Both use Streamable HTTP and OAuth with your Nexatron identity. Microsoft's menus change often; where a step names a Microsoft label, check the current product UI and Microsoft's documentation.

PathWhen to use it
Declarative agentYour organization installs a packaged Nexatron agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams.
Copilot Studio toolA maker adds Nexatron as an MCP tool to their own Copilot Studio agent, with no packaging.

Before connecting

  • Choose the Nexatron account and workspace the agent should access.
  • A Nexatron workspace administrator may need to approve the connection first. See workspace approval.
  • Copilot Studio tools run through Power Platform connectors, so your organization's data loss prevention policies for connectors also apply.

Option A: declarative agent

The Nexatron declarative agent is a Microsoft 365 app package. Its agent calls the Nexatron MCP server directly as a remote MCP action and signs people in with OAuth.

  1. A Microsoft 365 administrator uploads the app package in the Microsoft 365 admin center (Integrated apps) and approves the agent for the organization. Contact your Nexatron account team for the current package.
  2. People open Microsoft 365 Copilot, choose the Nexatron agent and ask a question, for example "What was revenue by region last quarter?".
  3. The first time, Copilot asks each person to sign in to Nexatron. Sign in with your Nexatron identity.

Availability of the packaged agent for your tenant, and the exact admin center labels, are not verified here. Check the current product UI.

Option B: Copilot Studio

  1. In Copilot Studio, open your agent and turn on generative orchestration, which MCP tools need.
  2. Add a tool and choose Model Context Protocol.
  3. Enter:
    • Server name: Nexatron
    • Server description: Ask your governed enterprise data in plain English.
    • Server URL: https://api.nexatron.io/api/v1/mcp
  4. For authentication, choose OAuth 2.0 with dynamic discovery. Nexatron publishes its OAuth metadata at https://api.nexatron.io/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource and supports dynamic client registration.
  5. Create the connection, add the tool to the agent, then publish the agent to the Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot channels if you want it there.

These steps follow Microsoft's guide to connecting an existing MCP server to a Copilot Studio agent. Check the current product UI, since the wizard labels can change.

What the agent can use

The agent sees the hosted Nexatron tools: seven analytics tools, plus three action tools when the workspace allows them and the connection was granted an action scope. See available tools and the MCP reference. Every call runs as the signed-in person, with their Nexatron role, row policies and masking applied.
