Metrics

Metrics is where a workspace admin decides what answer setup proposed for each connection: how each business measure is calculated, which system answers when two hold the same records, the fixes proposed for answers people flagged as wrong, and the questions only the data owner can settle. Nothing changes in answers until an admin decides.

Only workspace admins can make these decisions. Everyone else can read every definition, with its trust label and the owner's decision, on Ontology: the page shows Read definitions on Ontology.

What you see

Choose a connection with the chips at the top. A bar, Waiting on you:, counts what needs a decision and links to each section:

SectionWhat it holds
DefinitionsHow each business measure is calculated, grouped by business object. Approving one makes answers that use it read Approved.
Which system answersBusiness objects that two connected systems hold, in different numbers. Until you choose, each answer picks a system and says which it used. Your choice applies to every answer in the workspace, on every connection.
Flagged answersAnswers people said were wrong. Nexatron proposes one change for each and checks it like any query it writes.
Questions for the data ownerThings the data cannot settle on its own. Each answer changes how every question on that table is answered.
ConventionsFilters your team already applies, learned from past queries. Read-only: answers apply them automatically.

What the trust levels mean explains each trust label. See also Ask.

Decide a definition

  1. Read the calculation, unit, filters and other names on the Definition tab; the History tab shows every change and who made it.
  2. Select Approve if it is right, Reject if answers should stop using it (setup will not propose it again), or Edit to correct it.
  3. In the edit dialog, change what is wrong, say why (kept in the definition's history), and select Check what this changes to see the effect before you Save definition. Your edit becomes the approved definition.

If the data owner's answers are not yet applied to a definition, approving asks you to confirm with Approve anyway.

Answer a data owner question

Each question says why Nexatron asks. Pick an option or write Your answer, then select Save. New answers on that table use it.

Decide a flagged answer

Each flag shows who flagged it, what the answer said, and the change Nexatron proposes.

  • Show old and new values runs the old and the updated query of up to five answers as you, with your access, so you see the numbers before and after. No AI is used.
  • Approve change applies it. Reject then Close without a change closes the flag with a reason the person who flagged it sees. Ask for a proposal again asks for a new proposal.

Export the model

Workspace admins can select Export semantic model and choose JSON or YAML to download the connection's semantic model in the Apache Ossie format: tables, relationships and definitions with their trust level and owner.
